Join Alison for a 6 week Mums and Bubs Yoga course.. We know how hard it can be to get to yoga with a little one, so we invite you to bring your Bub along, up until crawling age.
Classes Meet Thursdays 11-12pm, and focus on Mum specific yoga moves to help you strengthen all of the right areas. Pre natal ladies also will find this style of class very beneficial.

We encourage you to come for the 6-week course to get the most out of the sessions, and we understand that it can be tricky sometimes, so we have included one free class in the 6 weeks (pay for 5, get 6)
You can also attend casually/ on a week to week basis

Alison’s Bio….While working as a professional dancer on Broadway in New York City Alison developed a love for yoga as a means to nourish her body and fix dance related injuries. While performing with the Radio City Rockettes she completed her 200 hour Vinyasa teacher training at Joschi Yoga Institute in New York City. She was also a trainer in the Tracy Anderson Method and Body By Simone, both dance/yoga/pilates based forms of exercise.
In Alison’s journey through various forms of dance and fitness, she has found yoga to be a constant tool for her mental and physical health and well-being. She is passionate about sharing the benefits and joy yoga can bring to your life. Her yoga classes are strong and uplifting with a focus on mind and body awareness, and using your breath to inspire your movement and calm your mind.

Give Mum the gift of love by bringing her along to the Give Love Yoga & Breakfast Event (held the day before Mother’s Day, so you can still do the traditional stuff). What could be better than giving Mum the gift of precious time spent together doing something healthy and nourishing.

KOJA and TWOSIX Wellness have teamed up to bring together Mum’s and offspring alike for a morning of yoga, breakfast and giving back. Join us on May 7th, the day before Mothers Day for this special experience.

Mum’s not free to come along? That’s ok, you can borrow ours! Or bring a friend! The event isn’t exclusively for the ladies either, boys, you’ll get some serious brownie points by bringing Mum to this one.

What to expect?

The Give Love Breakfast & Yoga event is a beautiful gift to give to your Mum. We have created a unique experience for you to share special memories and moments with your Mum, making her feel special whilst having a great time yourself and giving back to charity. How’s that for a feel-good combination!

Yoga

The event will take place at the gorgeous Yoga 37 studio in Collingwood. We will meet for a yoga class at 10.30am where you will be guided through a gentle vinyasa flow. The class will be an open level and suitable for beginners as well as seasoned yogis.

Breakfast

After a luxurious savasana you will be guided upstairs for an amazing gluten free, vegan, sugar free breakfast! We’ll have chia pudding topped with KOJA Breakfast Toppers, cold pressed juices, delicious bliss balls, coffee from First Press and tea from the wonderful Angea.

Goodie bags

We’ve teamed up with some very generous partners for our goodie bags which you’ll receive on the day. We can’t reveal too much (surprises are way more fun) but you can expect some goodies from; TOM organic, Loving Earth, Dr Bronners, Matcha Maiden, Bobble, a gorgeous bunch of flowers from Badlands & Co (their flowers are pictured in the image above) and loads more…

Yoga Practice – Power Flow Yoga

Power Flow is our vinyasa style yoga, where movement and breath are connected, creating a dynamic flow. The focus is on breathing into each posture, calming the mind and focusing on each movement and how it feels in your body. It’s a faster paced class, perfect for the morning to awaken and enliven the body after sleep.

Yoga Practice – Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a restorative style of yoga, focusing on softening into the body, melting away tension through longer held postures. Yin yoga works into the fascia, connective tissues, ligaments and joints of the body, encouraging you to surrender into each pose. Yin yoga is a quieter practice with a more internal focus.

Pranayama / Meditation / Savasana

Pranayama is the control and release of breath. ‘Prana’ is breath or vital energy in our body, ‘yama’ is to control, and ‘ayama’ is to release. With pranayama practice, you will learn how to breathe consciously and fluidly, calming both body and mind.

Meditation is the art of slowing down the tumultous ‘monkey mind’. Meditation can bring focus, clarity, emotional positivity and a true sense of calm to your being.

Savasana is a state of full relaxation for the body and mind. Savasana often occurs after asana practice where the body can completely relax, and integrate and prcoess everything the body and mind have learnt in asana.

Massage

Indulge yourself in a 30-minute upper body massage to soothe your body and mind. This is pure YOU time to relax and enjoy, allowing healing hands release built up stress and tension. True bliss!

Nature Walk

Amarant rests in 25 acres of beautiful rainforest. There are plenty of nature walks to experience, as well as a lookout, water springs, sacred spaces and other natural wonders to explore. Please wear only closed toe shoes for walking.

About the Amarant Retreat

Amarant Retreat is nestled on Mount Ben Cairn in the Yarra Ranges National Park, 70km north of Melbourne. Amarant Retreat was developed by Dr Hanna Cyncynatus, as a sacred place of spiritual wellness and growth. It is a beautiful place with gorgeous accomodation, spacious yoga room, open dining and alfresco areas as well as other various outdoor spaces.

Amarant Retreat is a strictly non-smoking environment.

Your Hosts:

CASEY

Casey started practicing yoga originally to assist with her dance training but soon fell in love with yoga all on its own. Having taught swimming and dance for years, transferring into teaching yoga was a natural progression. Casey loves to learn, and has completed her 500 hour Diploma of Yoga Teaching at the Australian Yoga Academy, has a Certificate of Vinyasa Teaching with Jenni-Morrison Jack, a certificate of Yin Yoga Training with Jo Phee, a Diploma in Life Coaching as well as a double degree in HR and Psychology. Casey is super passionate about movement, breath and the body, and you can sense the dancer in her flowing yoga sequences. Casey’s classes are all about excellent technique and challenging yourself, then enjoying the release and peace that comes with a well-earned savasana or meditation at the end.

ROWIE

While Rowie is Melbourne born and bred, a part of her still calls Byron Bay home after living there in 2008/09. Rowie has done a bit of everything, from 200 hour ashtanga yoga and 300 hour advanced vinyasa flow (level 2), to the slower, stretchy yin teacher trainings. From the moment you walk into one of Rowie’s classes, you will feel at ease. There is no bootcamp body shaming practice going on here, and you can sense that she doesn’t take life too seriously. Rowie encourages students to have fun with their practice and go through the motions of being in or falling out of a pose with a laugh at the end. Rowie’s hot and flow classes are strong, challenging and fluid, whilst her yin classes will leave you floating on a yin cloud, encouraging you to stop perhaps for the first time in your day, and find ease rather than struggle.
