We’ve fallen in love with Yogi.Peace.Club. Lux eco yoga mats and funky yoga tops, inspired by the ocean, travel, colour and yoga. Founder & Designer Emma Barr shares her design inspiration and process.
Where did the idea for Yogi Peace Club come from?
Yogi Peace Club derives its influence from yoga, the beach, and all things tropical.
My ideology for the brand is dedicated to the Love of Life, Yoga, Beach, Tropical Places, Colour, Peace, Travel, Happiness and Mindfulness.
Yogi Peace Club hopes to inspire fellow yoga participants with its creative designs and unique product offerings.
I love the fact that I have full creative control of the brand and I can be as experimental as I want with the design. This is the first time I have started a brand of my own.
How do you get your creative juices flowing?
I am never short of ideas. It more the case of which one don’t I do. Everywhere I look there is inspiration my garden, the beach, and travel.
And those mats! They are just divine! From where do you draw design inspiration?
Designing patterns and prints is one of my favourite things to do. I love playing with shape and colour. I also draw inspiration from travel to Indonesia, California and Mexico.
What do you want people to feel when they wear your clothes and use your mats?
I want my customers to feel they are part of the Yogi Peace Club. That they are buying something that is made with love and passion. I want them to feel youthful, fun, fit and playful.
There is a strong environmental philosophy behind the brand and its products. For example the mats are free from the nasties – latex, silicone, toxic glue, PVC, Chlorine and Phthalates and are made Luxurious micro-fiber bonded to 100% natural recycled and biodegradable tree rubber.
That same principle is applied to the suppliers I work with. All the factories I work with have excellent staff and labour conditions and meet strict factory requirements.
What’s next for Yogi Peace Club?
My dream for Yogi Peace Club is simple – I just want my products to make people happy. Yoga aims to transform the body and mind, so I am taking that philosophy with the business with a sense of all things tropical, peaceful and fun.
The next collection introduces a new range of tops, different shapes and fabrics. Perfect for yoga. Acid tie dye, foil, mesh and coconuts! Each piece can be worn to yoga and then for the rest of your day.
