Blissful Baths for Your Every Mood

November 24, 2016

Aromatherapy baths are a fantastic way to unwind at the end of a long day…

Essential oils have many benefits – from being able to assist your body through recovery, improving your sleep and relaxing your mind and your muscles. Some essential oils have relaxing and calming properties, whereas others have up-lifting and invigorating properties. The oils that you use in your aromatherapy bath will be absorbed through the skin and at the same time their herbal and floral aromas are inhaled which stimulates your brain.

Below we have included an aromatherapy bath for every occasion…

  • The ‘my brain is still wired at 11pm but I need a GOOD sleep tonight’ bath:

The best oils for relaxation and improving your sleep are lavender, chamomile, ylang-ylang, rose, sage and sandalwood.

Before you begin, start by transforming your bath into a calming and relaxing environment, dim the lights, burn your favorite candle and use a bath pillow if you have one (if not a rolled towel on the edge of the bath behind your neck works well).

Mix in 10 drops of chamomile, 10 drops of ylang-ylang and 15 drops of lavender oil into your running bath water. Soak for 15-20 mins (until your nice an wrinkly!)

  • The ‘I’ve done boot camp four days in a row and my whole body aches’ bath:

To your running bath water add: 10 drops Cinnamomum Camphora Bark Oil, 10 drops of Black pepper and 8 drops of Lavender

Tired and aching muscles usually respond well to a warm – hot soak for at least 15 -20 minutes. It is also a great idea to do some light stretching after your soak while the muscles are still warm.

  • The ‘I need to wake up and conquer the day’ bath:

The best oils for stimulation are peppermint, rosemary, eucalyptus and lemon.

For a stimulating bath, it’s best not to have the water temperature too hot and I actually recommend to finish your soak with a quick rinse in cold water (if you can bear it!).

Add 10 drops of peppermint oil, 8 drops of rosemary and 8 drops of eucalyptus to your running bath water. Again, soak for 15-20 minutes.
