A Quick Morning Routine That Will Change Your Day…& Life!

July 24, 2016

For the majority of us of our morning routine starts off a little something like this:

Alarm goes off, Groan, Hit snooze, Alarm again, pick up our smartphone, Check our news feed,

Then eventually roll out of bed. But you could use that time you spend hitting snooze and checking in on your social media to do something productive that will guarantee to help you have a more productive and comfortable day. Spending a few minutes each morning to stretch can go a long way to improving posture, decreasing daily aches and pains and increasing blood flow to your muscles – which is just what you need when waking up on cold Melbourne morning!

Here’s what your new morning routine should look like:

Wake up, alarm or no alarm, the minute you wake up get out of your bed. Trust me, the longer you lie there the harder it will be to get out!

Raise your arms above your head to lengthen your spine and then follow with this series of stretches. Each stretch should be help for 30-60 seconds.

These stretches are designed to lengthen the spine and stretch your body from head to toe. This series of stretches is particularly helpful for people who do spend a lot of their day sedentary seated at a desk as they focus on the glutes, hamstrings and lower back.

Stretching is something that needs to be done on a regular basis to be really effective so making a routine of stretching every morning is a great way to start.

Follow your new morning stretch routine with a big glass of water and a nutritious breakfast and you are set to have a good day!
