Top 6 Roast Chickpea Recipes

The method will be the same with all of these so let’s get that down first.

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 170C (340F)
  2. Rinse and drain the chickpeas
  3. Pat them down dry with paper towels
  4. Add all of the ingredients to a salad bowl and toss until coated
  5. Line a tray with baking paper and spread out your ingredients
  6. Let them cook for roughly 40 minutes

1. Cayenne Classic

  • Chickpea cans (400ml) – 2
  • Extra virgin olive oil – 4 tablespoons
  • Sea salt – heavy pinch
  • Black pepper – pinch
  • Cayenne pepper powder – 1/4 teaspoon, add more or less depending on powder strength and your tolerance

2. Nacho Cheese

  • Nutritional yeast – 1/2 cup
  • Extra virgin olive oil – 2 tablespoons
  • Cumin – 1 teaspoon
  • Sea salt – heavy pinch
  • Liquid smoke – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cayenne pepper – 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder – 2 teaspoons

3. Salt & Vinegar

  • Extra virgin olive oil – 2 tablespoons
  • Sea salt – 1 teaspoon
  • Red wine vinegar – 2 tablespoons
  • Black pepper – 1/2 teaspoon

4. Honey Cinnamon

  • Chickpea cans (400ml) – 2
  • Coconut oil – 4 tablespoons
  • Cinnamon – 2 teaspoons
  • Honey – 2 tablespoons

5. Sesame Treat

  • Sesame oil – 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Sea salt – heavy pinch
  • Sesame seeds – 1 or 2 tablespoons

6. BBQ

  • Extra virgin olive oil – 2 tablespoons
  • Paprika – 2 teaspoons
  • Cumin – 1 teaspoon
  • Chili powder- 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Sea salt – heavy pinch
  • Maple syrup – 2 tablespoons
