5 Random Healthy Things You Can Start Doing Today!

1. Drink a glass of water before every meal.

Drinking a large glass of water ½ an hour before eating is a great way to partially fill you up and prevent you from overeating (if that is something you struggle with), and it’s a great simple way to ensure you are getting in your ‘quota’ of water every day if you sometimes forget.

2. Eat healthy fats.

Most people assume that fat will make them fat and this is not entirely true! Your body needs fat to be healthy. It is vital in hormone production, in the absorption of vitamins and can help stabilise your blood sugar. Avocados, nuts, salmon, sardines, coconut oil and olive oil are my favourite types of healthy fats and can be easily added to many meals.

3. Eat a spoonful of fermented veggies (such as sauerkraut or kimchi) slightly before OR with every meal.

Fermented foods contain beneficial probiotics and digestive enzymes that will help you digest your food and feel less bloated.

4. Take fish oil tablets and a probiotic every morning.

Fish oil will help fight inflammation in the body and help with brain function, and probiotics will strengthen immunity and keep your gut healthy.

5. Cook with organic cold pressed coconut oil.

Coconut oil is the healthiest oil to cook with due to its high smoke point and contains a very healthy nutrient called Lauric acid. It’s also an anti-viral, anti-microbial and anti-fungal- the perfect oil to help boost your immunity this winter. I bake all my veggies in coconut oil, cook my eggs in it and make bliss balls with it. You can use it for everything!

Remember, the single most effective method for getting healthy is TAKING ACTION. You don’t have to wait until everything is perfect in your life, or you have the perfect diet, or when you have ‘time’. Just start RIGHT NOW with something you know you can change immediately to help you reach your goals. You can improve and tweak the rest along the way!
